Default rims/tire questions

the lifty kit i just bought suggest 35" tires by 12,5", im cool with that, found tons online that are cool.

my question is what size rim should i go with? i have stock 18" rims on my 2008, what is the smallest size rim that would fit? 15", 16" to hold a 35" tire?

Some say u can run 15, some say the calipers hit. I think it is just the rubi's 44 front that has problems with 15's. I would stay to at least a 16 to avoid problems, smaller are obviously cheaper. I went with 17's on mine. Just like the look of the bigger rim, less bubble look to the tire, but thats just a preference thing. 4.5 inch back spacing so u don't scrub, or u have to run spacers. Realize that the tires are going to stick out past your flares with 12.5 wide. Can go to metric sizing to get a narrower tire. Search google for a tire size calculator if u want to play with some sizes. Hope this helps!

The spacers are important not just to avoid rubbing but also to get wider, helps to prevent rollover when the Jeep is lifted and does incline sideways while rock crawling.
