Exclamation Jk questions???

Hi, im relativly new to jeeps and have finally got around to upgrading my
'08 jk Wangler X 2-door. I just have a few questions i was hopeing could be answered...

- im lookin into getting new tires for my baby and am thinking of gettin 33's put on my stock rims(the standerd 16inch ones it came with). I was thinking of mudding tires or something along those lines, but would I need spacers and or a lift for them to fit? could i get away with trimming around the weel well so they dont ware....

essentailly i bought it in 08 and purchased the 5 yr warrenty aswell.. and am afraid if i lift it some of it(warrenty) may be voided so im lookin into putting new tires on it for now hopefully 33's and when the warrenty's up then lifting the jeep. The reason beeing i came into 2500$ and am tryin to get the most bang for my $ in trems of trail perfomance uprades. Im compleatly open to thoughts and suggestions!!!

Thanks for all your help and suggestions

Default Re: Jk questions???

Welcome to the board! and congrats on the $2500, money spending on jeep is good!
and here we go, spacers are the way to go if your keeping your stock rims, otherwise 33's will rub on the sway bar in the back, you would have to change the back spacing of the rim to get the tires to fit without...

but if your considering getting a lift, the best thing is to fit your tires to your lift, as in get your lift, then buy your tires, most places will test fit a tire for you to make sure it will clear everything, but spacers are going to be necessary still

of course a good set of A/T tires is going to be the way to go for trails, and daily driving, MT's will give you the fun traction in the mud... i know too many people with MT's that never see the mud or rocks... but if yours has, its the way to go

A 3" lift is going to give you a nice stance and should leave you with enough to play harder offroad, but if your hitting up some of the heavier stuff, you'd probably want to go towards a long arm kit
