Default Canadian online retailers?

Hey, new here..

ive done some searching, but found nothing useful.

I'm trying to locate some decent canadian based online retailers for 4wd parts. I'd rather support 'local' business if possible, but at the moment the US dollar is really making that difficult.

so basically looking for some good deals in canada, even if they are a bit more than the US counterparts.

Thanks
-darin

hey Darin, i'm with you supporting our local business but the reality of it is that even after shipping, duty and exchange i usually still save considerably when ordering from the states. and it is often here in amazingly quick time. with the dollar as it is, why are canadian prices still so much higher than the states? retailers are you listening? we will continue to order from the states until the pricing reflects the canadian dollars strength. there are canadian places i can tell you about, i dont know where you are but in vancouver try Gemini, the website is http://www.gemini-sales.com/index.html the guy there to talk to if you call is Brock. also canada wide try National 4WD, web address is http://www.national4wd.com/Pages/locations.php they have a few shops across the country ut i have never dealt with them personally.

you are right, we really have i limited selection and if somebody picks up the slack they would probably do a very good business.

shinny side up

I have just ordered a manual from Gemini-sales.com. They don't seem to have much for cherokees though. I looked at another site, Modern Motors from Calgary. They have a lot of links to American manufacturers. I haven't bought anything though.
Hope that helps.

Canada Re: Canadian online retailers?

I've dealt with Gemini Sales from BC as well, and they are helpful and their pricing is fair. I got my Sunrider Softop from them, shipped to Northern Ontario for less than I could have gotten it from Toronto! In Toronto there is "Just Jeeps", but I found their online pricing a bit out-of-wack. As for my Warn M8000 winch, got it from R-Way Auto Parts in Blind River Ontario, great pricing, but then again no shipping as I'm only 30 minutes away (between Sault Ste Marie and Sudbury Ontario). JC Whitney from the states seems pretty good for pricing as well, getting my KC Hi-Lights from there, waiting for them & windsheild brackets to arrive (cheaper than anywhere else I've found, Canada or USA, and they include the shipping and "duty" in their final price), but you have to call their toll free number to order from Canada. Good Luck!

You could use ebay if you wanted to buy some parts for cheap.

Probably not the best way to go , but there is millions on parts on ebay.

Did you try looking anywhere else?

Unhappy Re: Canadian online retailers?

Scratch JC Whitney. Pricing is good, but still got nailed for $58.00 by UPS. Their "brokerage fee" plus collecting GST & PST. :(

I hate that , when sellers have low prices , then you look at their shipping fees.

They got to make money some how.

Try to stay with Canadian companies , then no brokerage fee.

I'm negotiating a possible deal on a 82' CJ7. It's got a 350 CID/TH 350 combo with a suspension/body lift big enough to stuff 36" ground hawgs under the fenders with room to spare. It's nowhere near street legal right now and it's gonna take a lot of work to get it there. I was wanting it primarily for bogging anyways. The fella is asking $1000 which sounds like a good deal. It runs decent, it has numerous holes in the body from rust, but the frame is in good shape. My question to you guys is how hard will it be to completely rewire the beast? The engine and fan are the only things with power. Thanks for the help.
