Can anyone help?

Can anyone help?
We have a '95 Jeep Cherokee and the central door lock system has suddenly stopped working.
We checked the fuse and the electric seats still work. (The manual says they are on the same fuse.)
Any suggestions?

Re: Can anyone help?
Ok, if your vehicle had a remote door key fob (keychain unlock/lock) there is a box that can disable the locks as well. If you can hear the relay click... it may be a broken wire in the accordian. That is the bellows in the door jamb. The alarm/remote door lock can disable the locks, IF it malfunctions. If you send me the last 8 digits of your VIN, I may be able to track down what you have for wiring. Don't send the whole VIN security issues online ya know :) Email is in my details page.

Hi ZJDougy,
I sent the VIN that you asked for but am not sure if you received it....I'm very new to this and don't know if I did it right.
I'm sending it again just in case. :)

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by 'email is in my details page'?
Thanks again,
Calypsolil

Click on his name, then click on View Public Profile, then click just below (Junior Member) Sent Message, then it gives you 2 choices of what kind of message you wish to send him. Hope this helps

Got it, I will check this out in the parts Dept. You may have a remote entry unit, or something causing gremlins. Sorry for long response.... I sometimes use the work PC.. and its older then my YJ

Re: Can anyone help?
Unlikely this is the problem. It is usually the switches in the door. If it isn't the switches, it may be a wire from the relay, in the glove box... or a wire from the switches. This system is rather problematic to diagnose without seeing it firsthand. Also, there is a feed fuse to that pabnel, that holds your relays, check main bus fuses, and all that jazz. PDLock fuse just powers the switches and relays ENABLE. not the locks.

Re: Can anyone help?
We took your suggestion and checked every fuse....eventually finding a 20 amp fuse that was the problem.
It's SO good to have that working again!
Thanks very much for your help on this!
