Charity Run Ideas

This is a seperate topic only to help keep it organized. These are a couple ideas I have to keep the run interesting and make for some friendly competition during the run. Mike Dill had the idea a couple months back for a Blind folded Washout run, so that is in here as well.

Events

Follow the leader - through the washout ditch.
Blind Folded washout - One of the easier washouts
2 WD Washout
Cross the washout
Out the Side
Mud Bog - The water filled ditch beside the road
Cross the Ditch - Near the large washout
The Impassable washout - Possible team event, with one winch truck
The left turn washout
Tug O War
Hill Climb Race
The Pond

Trail Runs

Hillbilly Haven - C and D
Lower Trailer - B, C and D
Upper Trail - Open to all trucks
Hydro Line - C and D

Truck Classifications

(A) Stock to 31" Tires with A/T and no lockers
(B) 31-33" Mud Tires no lockers
(C) 32-35" Mud Tires with rear locker
(D) 35"+ Mud Tires with one or more lockers

The reason I am setting this up with classes is to try and make the run go smoothly, we do not want to see one truck holding up an entire group. The other reason is this will give people a starting point and if they wish to try something out of their class, then they can but they have to be prepared for some body damage or breakage.

Let me know what you think and if you can think of something else to add, then lets hear it. I know Derek will want to do a Suzuki vs Rubi competition and I am open for any of it, but we want to keep the competitions friendly.

now you need multiple trucks representing us to lead each group can you find that many trucks?

think some of the washout ideas will result in a flop and im all for seeing that :D but as mike said, we dont have enough people to lead the groups through some of the stuff.

These are only ideas folks, we do not have to do them all and many of them can be done in stages as we hit the washout area.

i do like the washout ideas. i think we for sure need to hit the big washout near als house that woody ripped his mirrors off in last year and see how far some people can hack through it :D

I think you have some good ideas there. There should be leaders for each of the trail runs.

Re: Charity Run Ideas

I do not think it will be hard to get people together for different trail runs. the other events can be done as each group reaches that area.

Agreed, I would only suggest larger trucks that are well equipt go in there for this time of year.

Re: Charity Run Ideas

how far is the lions club from the trail?

how much room is at said lions club for trucks and trailers?

uchi 11-14-2008 11:27 PM

Re: Charity Run Ideas

lions club is less than 5 minutes away. theyve got a pretty big lot and we filled it last year so i think this year we might be getting some more room through them. mike knows more about that than i do

Re: Charity Run Ideas

trails are not far scooby will lead ya to them you can take a set of pretty well unused train tracks right into the trails if ya wanted! as for parking im gonna play it by year! if we fil it again like last year then i am gonna revamp for next year! you can leave your truck and trailer there or you can trail it to the trail head(i did last year) and go it right on 3rd concession if we over flow the parking next year ill have a HUGE lot lined and and the lions will arrange with the city to ave us guided to the trail "legally"

i will be there at around 1030 so if anyone wants to show up early and get a good parking spot and unload prior to EVERYONE showing up please do and whoever shows up early i am gonna ask for some help with the parking some folk to guide the others into the best spots to keep everything flowing and maximize the spots we have!
