Hello. Just picked up my first Jeep. After years of admiring them, I finally bought my first real Jeep a week ago. Picked it up yesterday in a snow storm. Good timing :) It is a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. Cherry red, black top and a tow package, of course, as we pull our T@B teardrop trailer everywhere. Really enjoy being able to get out camping throughout the year, in all seasons .... sun, rain mud or snow. My daughter is really envious and my son wonders why did I choose a MT. Hey, it's a JEEP. Whadya expect. Lovin' it.

Hi Georgianwinds. I'm new as well and looking for a trailer for our 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK. Will your Teardrop trailer handle the rough backroad travelling? .... and where did you get your teardrop trailer? We are interested in doing backroad camping in the Muskoka north. Happy trails!

Kate,

Our teardrop is a T@B and in Europe are known as Tabbert. I added a pair of shocks to the trailer to help with the bouncing. Bungee cord the inside cupboard doors and don't leave anything on the counter. Collapse the table and set it on the floor if you plan to go on rough roads. The clearance is better than many small trailers but we bought it a few years ago because it is easy to tow, quick to set up ( 5 minutes) and you can get add-ons to suit your camping style. .It ain't no Hilton and can only fit two. It is as close to camping as it was when I was younger. We really enjoy it. We purchased it at Springmount (Owen Sound) but they were also available at Mackenzie's in Gormley, south of you. The original N. Am. company is no longer manufacturing T@Bs but there are used ones around. I understand that Little Guy ( USA) is now manufacturing a T@B like unit and you can find a local dealer doing a search for Little Guy and T@B. Would bet that Mackenzie carries them. Good luck.

Hi Scott - just had to let you know...Just bought a 2011 "Little Guy" - Rough Rider - 5 wide. It's the size of a queen size mattress (inside and comes with the mattress) in the tear-drop shape. This one is made to go off-road and will go anywhere the Jeep will go. It has a 3/8" steel skid plate completely enclosing the bottom and has big burly tires. (sorry not sure of the size but this one (used) is coming with 2 spares.) This one also has a battery pack which powers the roof vent and uses a wheelchair battery and charges while driving. You can get all kinds of up grades but I like what this one comes with. We get it at the end of March so I'll send a pic then if you're interested or just go to www.golittleguy.com Can't wait to go camping!!!

Wow. Sounds perfect. I am sure your teardrop will be a fun and adventurous way to camp out whenever and where ever you want to go. The galley hatches are great and keep you outdoors. I take it that you have a fifth wire ( a charge line running from the jeep alternator) to charge the trailer battery while driving. The RV guys can advise. Some people forget that the 4 pin flat-type plug in cannot act as a charge line. I had the 4 pin changed to a 5 pin ( round receptacle like the 7 pin type) on my jeep just the other day. Our first campout is planned for the second week of April, rain or snow or mud ... doesn’t matter, we are going. End of April, heading for the Blue Ridge.
Cheers and please feel free to send some pictures. Offline email to georgianwinds@gmail.com if you'd like.
Life is good,
Scott
