I have to say sorry for that one, I had the Darn cam with me and never hooked it up on the last couple runs. I think I took a short one on this last one, but I have not even looked at it to see if it was worth posting.

Re: oct 19th run
Well Rob, Id say I have a perfect fix for your motor issues...
I got a 16valve waiting so see 7000rpm in the green beast. :)
All the Wiring and ECM included.
Anyone know where I can get a pair of toyota axles from ROB? lol
Yes, that my little sunrunner that fell on it`s side.
Broke a rear axle and front spiders from that incident. Still Drove it back to the road though.

Re: oct 19th run
I`m not going to knock any motor. I started with an 8 valve. I blew it up. I am very hard on parts. I enjoy beating on my truck. I have had a 16valve for a year now. It has considerably more power then my 8 valve. If you do proper maintenance and generally take car of your junk, almost any motor is reliable.
That said, even the 16 valve is low on power for myself.
I`m switching over to a 1.9TD from a 95 golf.
Much more power, Just gotta get used to the 5000rpm redline...lol

not to sure but that 1.9td is 100 hp and loads of torque.the 16valve rev's high but when you blow a timing belt you bend valve and 8 valve's you don't. a friend of mine has an 8 valve with 180 hp and 220 ft. the only advantage to the vw swap is fuel millage like 30 to 40 mpg. I'm in the middle of building an 8 valve myself with an 89 wiring harness
