trailer hitch wiring
Hey,
I understand there is wiring already part of the harness on the driver's side of the vehicle in the trunk area? all that is needed is a 'T' connector?
Is this true, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: trailer hitch wiring
Hiya,
Hey J. Can't speak for the YJ's but I got a "T" connector @ either Princess Auto or CTC, found the connector on driver's side rear, snapped it in place and VIOLA. 1994 Cherokee. Took about 10 minutes.
Merry Christmas.

Hiya James,
Now remember, MY experience was with a '94 CHEROKEE. Connection was behind spare tire, underneath the plastic liner panel. Part of wiring harness going to the driver's side tailight. NO splicing was necessary simply "plug and play". YMMV.
Peter.

Re: trailer hitch wiring
Found it all now. So for those who read his post and want to know...
Behind BOTH wheels (of a YJ Jeep) there is a small part of the lower area of the wheel well liner that pulls off pretty easily and when you look up, there is a connectote there.
What is needed is the right wire harness of course, for a YJ it entails 2 T-connectors (one for each side) and the harness leads to the one regular trailer hitch plug.
So all you have to do is unplug the factory connectors, put the T-connector in place on both sides, tie-up the wires out of the way and you are all good to go in about 10 minutes.
Hitch City sells the wire harness for about $30.
