Default Toronto area Jeep Mechanic/Specialist

My boyfriend has an awesome '89 YJ, original owner and it looks amazing! He really takes great care of it.

For the last few years, he's been in dire need of a mechanic who knows their way around a Jeep (YJ-TJ). A regular mechanic just doesn't cut it.

He once upon a time had a great mechanic, at Jeep Thrills, which no longer offers servicing. The only other place we have found is Just Jeeps, however it's at the other end of the city which doesn't work.

Anyone have a contact or two? Scarborough area is ideal.

Thanx

Your unfortunately in the wrong neck of the woods (if yu were in my area I wud give u a name or 2) BUT you could give National 4WD, Canada's Only Coast to Coast Source for 4X4, Jeep, Light Truck and SUV Accessories a call they have a place in Burlington, they might be able to help you out. Just talk to them may be they have a buddy around the area who's a good mechanic.. its worth a try..

Hi,

I noticed you have a 1989 YJ.
I have a 1987 YJ. 4.2 litre (6 cylinder) and 5 speed transmission
What type of problems are you having?
Did you find a mechanic?

Just usual stuff, its my wife truck other self inflicted stuff. Its been pretty good. I do most of my own repairs and I also have Jim @ Rockspyder4x4 things for me. Most of the problems with the Yj have been frt axle Ujoints and shafts, don't like the 33's.

Thanks for the referral.
I will keep them in mind.
You are right about the distance to Burlington, especially with no roof......
Perhaps in the summer.

Rockspyder4x4 I heard is also located in the Markham area.
Once the weather improves, I will have to drop by for a visit.
Thanks

Hey there Mr. White,

I'm a newbie to Toronto and need some help with my 89 Jeep. I noticed you said "Your unfortunately in the wrong neck of the woods (if yu were in my area I wud give u a name or 2)" to a member and was wondering what area you're in. I'm in Toronto, by King and Jameson. I recently had my injectors changed by a mechanic because I smelt gas anytime i had the heater on, adn sure enough they were leaking. But since then, she's been acting funny, not to mention getting gas in the oil! She's stalled twice at traffic lights and every so often, when I get goin from a stop light, the pedal just goes down without any movement or sound from the car, and then all of a sudden , she jerks and gets going again, almost like she's about to stall, but doesn't. I was thinking that maybe the plugs to the injectors were mis-matched when installed and so the fuel is being injected at the wrong time, but I'm not sure as I'm no expert. I tried unplugging them one by one in idle to hear of the idle doens't get affected with wny of them, hopefully telling me which one may be mis matched, but no luck. I now think i may need a jeep specialist... Any help is greatly appreciated!

My buddy who is a fellow jeeper and done lots of work on numerous jeeps has a shop located in Oshawa. Not all that far from Scarborough. He won't BS you or try and upsell you. He will tell you what needs to be done and what could be done if you desire.

The Shop is called Autoworks Automotive. It's located just south of Wilson and Taunton on the west side of Wilson. If you want to call for info the number is 905-571-3369. Ask for Paul. He's the owner.
