Wondering what is interchangable with 89 xj and 87 yj. xj is dead yj replaced it, but keeping xj around. Cause it is a jeep.

The motors are different, the t-case might be good, if it is a 231 and if it has the same shaft count. Axle shafts should work, junk the housings unless you need them. Keep the Vacuum shift unit off the front axle if it was the 231 case, if not it will not have one. After that you can part it out and try and make some money off the parts before you haul the rest off.

thanks not vaccum on axle but will shafts still work both are dana 30

You could use the right front shaft, but it would require you to remove and block off the vacuum actuator. The issue would be that your truck would always be spinning the front axles and drive shaft.
