need some advice on body mounts
I have a 1988 yj and the body mounts on the tub are rotted out really bad and need replacing. I am wondering if anyone has done this and what did they use. I was thinking off under the floors I could get some channel iron or mabye steel plates and figure out the height and buy the plates or plates to make it the right size and weld them in and drill threw them for the rubber body mounts. And the back mounts under the rear swinging door are rotted right out. The whole small panel is toast. So I am wondering if I could just get some steel thats L shaped and weld it there and drill the holes out again for the mounts.Any ideas or thoughts on this would be a great help as I am not sure if I might be crazy thinking this would work. LOL.
