Exclamation 89 YJ I am about to buy, clutch to floor!

Thinking of buying an 89, 4.0 that I found. The guy installed an AX-5 from a 92. Apparently he put it all back together and clutch drops to floor when depressed. He says it's the release bearing (or perhaps a loose line). Says he doesn't feel like repeating the tranny job to figure out what it is, so he put it up for sale. Anything I should I be concerned about or to look for?

What might it take to fix? I have all the tools I need and have restored a Mustang in the past, so fairly mechanically inclined.

I should also note he says the fluid is leaking between the bell housing and motor.

1) carburated sort of half electronic: real junk
2) peugeot tranny : oh no !
3) 3:07 gears in diff put 33" , no more overdrive , killlls the power !

but if you get real good price on it ...and plan to invest on better components after ...then ok !

but it has to be mint condition !

Well I got it off of a friend of mine...... I am the 2nd owner, 165000 Km and it's all stock. And I only paid $700.00 for it. Everything works and it runs great.

engine is ok , carburator aint .....

a 258 with offy 4 barrel and dual exhaust ( hedman headers) is great !

tranny wont take it and I hate the slave clutch cylinder in the bellhousing grrrrr!

the rear dana 35 is so-so !

but a jeep can be tailored to your needs !
like I said ,if body is in great shape , go for it

those are prone to rot ! check it out !

winshield frame , body mounts location , even the frame itself is to watch !

Don't worry about it, Everything can be upgraded. All you really need to do is make sure the frame and body are good, everything else is an easy switch.
