I changed mine about a year ago, and Jeep recommends NGK at some dealerships and others will tell you Champion. There were Champion in it b/4 but my local guy had NGK which according to this guy at Jeep said they replaced the Champion... blaaa..blaaa,, The main thing is look under the hood there is a marking (label) that tells you what to use... go by that.

I've been reading a bit on that since I've got to change mine this summer.

Many, many, jeepers recommend the Autolite Double Platinums (APP 985) for 2000+ jeeps

If you want to stick to Champions, apparently the Champions 7034 are their answer to the APP's

Stick with the FSM/Owner's Manual recommendations.

That's why most people go back to the Champions or NGK's for the 4.0's. Not enough benifit for the added expense.

the only plugs that i noticed a benefit from were the Bosch Platinum 2+ plugs...
i went to the +4 IR's and didn't notice a thing (its not a high performance ignition system so how would you really notice.)

With the Platinum 2's start ups were quicker, fuel economy went up a 1mpg if i didn't get on the skinny pedal too much, and i want to say i noticed a bit more power when i did... but you know your expecting some with everything you do so... for a couple bucks more than a standard plug not bad

NGK's have been good in the past, and theres they offer alot more colder and warmer plugs so you can find tune your plug for your engine and modifications
