water leak and floor pans

Default water leak and floor pans

bought a 97 tj and have noticed water leaks on the drivers side in a heavy rain storm,carpet was soaked on drivers side so i took it out.the floor pan has a hole rusted through.i need to buy a replacement pan to repair but i haven't been able to find a place to buy it.is there any internet sites i could order it from.also where would the water leak be.

Pretty much all jeeps leak a little, i would pull the carpet so it will at least dry out quickly and prevent future rust.

pulled all carpet out.where can i purchase a new drivers side floor pan,or do i make it myself

Just pulled the carpets right out of the front of my jeep.
They promote rusting of the floor pans as they hold the water on the pans.
I'm thinking some sort of rubber matte or even some sort of a liner.
If you use a rubber matte just lift it and mope up the water after a rain.
Just some ramblings..

Just a thought, but why would you want carpet in a Jeep ( or any viehicle near dirt ) anyways? I take that out at the earliest chanch and spray rubber rock guard on. Easier cleaning
