TJ passenger air bag switch shorting
I have a 2002 TJ and after I took apart my floor console, my airbag light turned on. So I brought it in to get the light checked out and they said the switch was shorting, now I'm not sure if the switch just doesn't work or if I'm forgetting to plug in that black round plug-in thing. I can't remember or see anywhere it could possible go. What could be my problem and what is that black plug for?

Re: TJ passenger air bag switch shorting
it looks like it connects to the bottom of the connector, almost like it broke off??
If its not giving you grief, tape it up, shrink wrap it what ever so it doesnt short out any more.
where did you take it to get looked at? They didn't find anything for you? Nothing retracted under neath the console???

Re: TJ passenger air bag switch shorting
i just brought it in to a local shop I only got them to check why my airbag light was on so they don't check into it much more then that. it doesn't look like anything broke off anywhere where i can see. i would love it if someone with the passenger factory airbag switch would check where or if theirs is connected cause it not that long of a wire so it can't go to far under the console, but I'm not sure
