Hi everyone
I just got a Jeep it's a 1998. 4.0L auto. It is all stock at this time. I know that I can up 31X10.5X15 rubber on it with a little rubbing, I was looking at the entry level Spring lifts. 2" may be for now.

My question is what knid of steering issues or other issues I might run into when I finally get to the spring lift. anything I should be watching for other than brake line and wires.

Would there be any issue with drive train alignment ??

Also I was thinking of getting a air intake and a carb kit. for better fuel milage are these good options.

I can"t wait to get it out in the spring and get to some of the back lakes.

Congrats on the new Jeep! For a coil lift, I would choose Teraflex TJ 2" Lift Kit, can also upgrade your shocks later on. I doubt any steering or alignment issue with only 2" lift, make sure everything in the direction it well tight: track bars, control arms, steering components, and so on... About cold air intake, my opinion is that you should spend your money on something else.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac seems a pretty good tire to me. There is even a tread on the side wall which can help you in tough situations on the trail. I prefer M/Ts over A/Ts but this tire have an aggressive tread which is more M/T-like. Most probably my favorite A/T out there! lol.. I would definitely try it if I would be on pavement most of the time instead of off-road. Nitto Terra Grappler is another nice A/T.

If your Jeep is a daily driver, some people might say to go with A/T since it is supposedly better on ice and snow. My last off-road trip, I had a fellow jeeper with A/Ts following me in deep mud after a couple of days of rain and I had to pull him out twice. I have to admit that my Jeep is 4 door so heavier than my friend and I am pretty sure this gave me advantage. Other than that you should get really good performance out of it anyway.

Hope all is well in your Jeep worlds out there.
As stated above I am a new owner, I have not found a Haynes book yet for my 1998 Jeep Tj.
I am a Aircraft Mech, so have a good understanding of systems and Jeeps are going to be a hobby starting now LOL.
I have a question. I read on the forum that the Heat control has something to do with the Vacuum system My jeep right now will only put out Hot heat, Which is OK the weather is colder here in Ontario right now. But I need to fix it. Also the Crusie control comes on but will not hown Speed. I understand the vacuum is connected to that system too.

Is this correct. I feel that I may have a vacuum leak I have to find.

Hope this makes sense and hope someone can help a little.
