how much money do you have to spend? If you unhook the sway bars on a tj it is amazing how much the stock suspention flexes.AS to your lift question here goes first you will need a slip yoke eliminator kit for t-case,super short is best on a tj as it allows a longer driveshaft which reduces the operating angle on the u joints which means more miles between maintenance,A cv style rear drive shaft is next.The lift i would go 4" susp lift &1" body lift,the body lift will give clearance to do a tummy tuck,get rid of the shovel shaped trans mount for a flatter one better quality lift kits will offer these as options,progressive rate springs ride nicer for a DD control arms should have a rebuildable flex end longer shocks ,longer brake lines ,some type of steering correction,The more money you spend on a higher quality kit will save you money in the long run.by having all the parts you need .It is not out of line to spend $4000.Next if your jumping to 35s add $1000 for a gear swap for the diffsIf i had to do my jeep again i would do a 1" body lift , a slip yoke eliminator and driveshaft to do a tummy tuck high clearance fenders and 35s the money i would save on the susp lift would buy lockers for both diffs

any of the cheaper kits will get you off road it is mainly on road handling and reliabllity that come with high end kits.I think my way gives you the most bang for your buck move fenders and trim rear to match 1 weekend 0$ 1" body lift $200 or search the net for home brewed ones slipyoke eliminator &drive shaft $900 make your own skid plate $100 gears and lockers for both diffs $2800 total $4000 you would have a jeep that drives like stock,well almost nothing with 35s drives like stock stock steering angles a flat bottom for better clearance a rear detriot front selectable locker would drive circles around a stock rubi

$ 10,000 nice budget go for the high end kit and all the optional stuff they offer like the high clearance skid plate some long arm kits come with this and that also mounts the control arms if you have a dana 35 rear diff you will prob want to swap to a d44 or ford 8.8 as a d35 and big tires wont mix when you hit the rocks

Yah but I want that budget to include new bumpers and maybe a winch. So not looking for something that expensive.
