was reading this month JP magazine i found in a ad a 2inch spacer lift just wanted to know if anyone has tried this did u have any problems installing it and do I need to add or change any other parts or do anything else other than a wheel allignement thanks alot i already have 31's on it but would like to make it a little bigger thanks 4 the help
Taking some small boxed steel just a little larger than the circumference of the bolts that are at the top of your shocks and these yu place at the top of your shock as extenders and save a few bucks instead of buying longer shocks. This was done for my xj home made lift of 3 inches, But I have a very good friend that has the nak in thinking up things to save one money and the know how to make things happen..
No, nothing really. You loosen off the sway bar, the bolt retaining brackets on the springs and lift the Jeep up ~ letting the axle droop till the springs almost come off. Then slide your 'pucks' on top.
You will need to lengthen your bump stops and yes, getting or fabbing a shock brackets will allow you to keep the ones you have so as when the axle is at full articulation the shocks dont bottom out.
All the bb does is push your axle down which in turn lifts the frame. I dont think an alignment would be needed as your not changing anything other than spring compression.

I was going to go with a spacer set up but for a few more ponies I bought a Rough Country 2.5 suspension lift kit - coils and shocks and I bought the relocation kit for the rear shocks - I love it... I had a 4" body lift - like riding a crate on black ice dragging a parachute...
As you can see we're a Jeep family here

One has to be so careful with a body lift as not to go too high as you found out, going suspension is the best 4" okay, max 2" body (but there is already 1" stock) so 1" more totally 6 in anything higher and its scary on the hwy's. The jk I've noticed are probably stock 2" on the body, something to think about.
I like your new bumper
I like your new bumper
the P/O put the body lift in - I personally don't like anything more then 1" as well - I got a smoking deal on the bumper - it is friggin' heavy / solid - after a ton of work on it and more to got it is finally feeling better - edelbrock shorty jeep header, magnaflow stainless exhaust, 2.5" rough country suspension lift, new ball joints, front dive shaft-complete, new steering box, new rotors/pads, new tailgate hinges-mine were seized... more to come Ford 8.8 rear axle, genright 4" fenders and an atlas tranny upgrade...soooooon just need some OT now
hey forget the body spacers go to to zone offroad site you can get a 4 " sepension for just under 600 compleate minus the steeering stabilizer if your good on the wrenches you can have it installed in your driveway in a day allready saving for mine
