Check Guages light and electrical going crazy
Hi All,
I am starting to get an Electrical Poltergeist with my Manual 2003 Jeep Tj Sport. I was just on vacay and my Jeep wouldn't start (clicking). Got some cables, started, then check guages came up, and I took her for a spin and she was rough. I went back home thinking she may go down, turned her off, and tried to start her back up, nothing but intermitent guages spiking. Anyone have any suugestions, or, problems like this?
Thank you

Re: Check Guages light and electrical going crazy
Sorry ran out of time, (@ work!) Your battery may also be the problem, bring it to a shop and have them test it ( usually free or cheap ) if the battery is good then I would check the altinator. The spiking guages is usually associated with low voltage. Check the volt meter in your guage cluster and see what it says. You can also check your battery with a multimeter. Charge your battery for about 5 minutes, then check it with the multimeter. Start your jeep up if your altinator and battery show 12 volts or better while running all is good, but from the sounds of it you have a bad battery of altinator. Hope this helps.
