Default 3" Body lift for 98 TJ Questions?

Here from Nova Scotia, Canada...

I have just purchased a 1998 TJ 4cly std and plan to do a 3" body lift and put 33 MSR Safari tires under her...

Already made a plate for the back to give the back mounts a little more support...My girlfriends father has the 3" body lift but is missing all the hardware... My questions are what size are the bolts I need and what length....Filler extention size? Blocks for the grill? and I presume I have to take off the stearing shaft and get it extended... Obviously this is a budget build... any info would be very helpfull.. just wondering what I need without taking it all apart...

Also what can I do to bring the bumpers up to the right height again...

also, If there is a 3" body lift kit that includes everything I need how much is it and where can I buy it... Just incase it takes too much work to deal with what little I have to work with?

Thanks in advance...
Colin

3 inch body lift is a lot for a TJ , you are better off geting a 2.5 spring spacer kit and a 1 inch body lift. You can get used spacer kits for cheep and cut your 3 inch body lift down to 1 or 1.5 inch. any more than that you will have shifter and steering and even some brake line problems. The 4x4 shift lever is mounted to the floor , so you will be fabing a new mount of some kind even with a 1 inch body lift. The trans shifter might hit the floor in revers after the body lift. Hope this helps, good luck.

I might also have a set of heavy duty springs comming my way for free...lol suppose to lift it a inch or two can't remember .... So if I get the heavy duty springs, cut the lift to a 1 inch 2 inch body lift...how are you suppose to fab the 4-wheel drive shifter anyone know and have any pics?? Just want to be able to put 33's forsure on her...Would really like 35's but I like the Kelly MSR tires and the largest they make are 33's the price canadian installed for these tires are $ 1000.00 which seems reasonable..

So this is my sunday driver, my 1998 TJ, but I bought it to go off roading hitting the trails and mudding, I want 33's under it forsure...I don't do any rock crawling ect... Just don't want to break the bank... I really want to go with a large lift and be done with it....Let's say I do go with the 3" lift despite what everyone is telling me....How do I modify the 4-wheel drive shifter ect...??

You can use a 1/8 inch flat steel to lower the mount the same as you lift the body, ( lift 3inch, lower the mount 3inch).

LOL.. why ask for help then turn your back on advise to people who seem to know what you dont??? I am here to tell you dude, going over 1 to 1 1/2 body lift, changes all your dynamics of your Jeep. Do it. Then come back and tell us how you like it?

Good Luck with that. Best advise, pull one bolt out, take it to a store ask for the same thing, only 3 inches longer. Multiply by the amount of body pucks!

Another factor to consider is that a 3" body lift will make your Jeep look really really stupid with all that space between the body and the frame.
