Not ready but why not contact www.national4wd.com and talk to one of their shop boys about the budget lift, which comprises of coil spacers (solid rubber or urthen) block on top of the coils and if you wish buy longer shocks or cut tubular spacing on the top of the shock mounts where it is attached to the body Or go to Cdn Tire and pick up their coil spacers Anything higher I would strongly suggest a kit. Also go to this site (Jeep 3 Inch Budget Lift Installation ) they have a nice explanation and detailed pics of what is done. i only don't like is the young lads fingers in between the coil, if that clamp goes his fingers are bye bye.

I don't really like body lifts. A better alternative on a budget would be spacers on the springs, you would get about 2 to 2-1/2"s of lift. But I would go with a suspension lift, depends on your budget. Do you plan to go offroading?

If you lift the body, the frame stays where it is and the body is moving away from it. Anything that's connected between the two will have to stretch that distance. And a body lift is just for the look it does not make the jeep any better for off road. You would also have to deal with moving your radiator fan, transmission and transfer case linkages and the possibility of needing longer lines for brakes, fuel and so on. With a 3" body lift, your gear shifter shaft will be 3" shorter... this will probably cause interference with the tub and you will have to grind some clearance so you can move the gear shifter far enough to get it into the proper gear.

I strongly agree with all the above post's, stay away from body lifts, I cannot stress that enough.

Addition to what I have already posted. A friend with a yj did a 3 inch body lift and a 4 inch suspension lift. His complaint is when its windy hes has allot of problems keeping it on the road. If he had the chance to do it again. He would have gone for a 4" or 6" suspension lift instead. With a 4" yu can safely put on 35" tires.. with a 6" I wud say even bigger. Unless your a hardcore offroader why go further than 4" You can get a complete kit for under $1000. Cdn (installation extra). do it yourself with a buddy too.
