05 Rubicon or 00 TJ Sport
Rubi has 58k, air, cruise, sound bar, 6sp, hard/bikini tops for $12000 but i have to go 6hrs to get, do out of province inspection and it'll need tires and a windshield so lets say $13000.
TJ has 107k, new tires, 5 sp, only hard top for $8000.
I want the Rubi, but don't know that it is worth $5000 more....5 years newer, half the km, the extra gear for highway and all the Rubi goodies....plus it is likely in nicer shape, although I haven't seen it yet.
What are the major things I should look for on both? ASAP replies please....

The Ruby warrantee 115,000 km 7 years. so will give you help there in case of major problems.. on the other hand the 2000 the warrantee is all gone. As above replies, the Ruby has allot to stuff you will want on the other one. So YES I'd go for the Ruby.. but check it over as you have an out of province vehicle and like PQue they can be ******. Go with original not large tires as some provinces have a height limit. Wash it up make a good show, sometimes they won't look too far if they see u been taking care of it..

take it for an inspection before you buy if you can better to spend around $100. for inspection than buy it and find out it needs a lot of stuff.if the jeep is in good shape the seller should not have issues with you getting it checked before cash changes hands.I would go for the Rubi

I'd tend towards the Rubi as well for that price, but the first thing I'd do is make sure it's not a Rubiclone. Make sure all the goodies are actually there, and not just the decal on the hood.
After that have it inspected or do it yourself if you know what to look for to make sure it hasn't been beaten to hell.
Five decent new tires alone will easily run 1000 and up. Plus you'll need to pay for the inspection, plus a new windshield apparently. And if you'r financing it, it will cost you more as will the insurance.
There's really no quick answer. But a couple of pictures of the potential candidates might help a lot.

That's a toughie..My first instinct is go with the Rubi, but it seems like a lot of hassle and not to mention more $.
I'm a mechanic so I'd take the 2000 and just start building it up,but that's me...regardless,the key is to inspect it bumper to bumper before committing to anything, then at least you know where you stand.
And like riponred says, make sure it's not a Rubiclone..lots of those prattling around

That 2005 is a TJ Rubicon with the 4.0 motor, much better than the new 3.8 minivan motor now residing in the JK's. I'd have to say go with the Rube. It will more than likely worth the drive.
