Re: YJ stuck in gear

I am over it!
Jeep for sale....$ 1800
Lifter tick and stuck in second gear :(

I took the boot off, it had a plate with 3 screws holding in a ring that
wont budge. Under the ring is a thin washer with some cut outs. The trans,
splits in half left to right.

I want my 1952 M38 back!!

Re: YJ stuck in gear

Side to side split is a Peugot tranny. Parts manual shows several
different versions of how the lever comes out, depends on the tranny
serial number. On mine, you need to get under the first bushing you come
to, you need to unscrew the 3 bolts that bolt into the tranny top to get
the lever freed up. Sounds like yours may be the version with a snap
ring under the first bushing.
