Re: YJ stuck in gear
Did you release the Ebrake? I have to do that now and then on my
Peugeot BA 10/5 to get out of gear. Could you be out of fluid in the clutch master cyl? |
Re: YJ stuck in gear
1989 258 cui 5 speed.
The clutch works great, I tried putting the transfer case in netural. It feels more stuck than disconected. It looks like a drag to get to the trans. But I run a machine shop and it is at work, so I have that going for me at least. Any one near Norfolk Va want to buy the beast? :) I will report todays outcome. Thanks for the help so far. Les |

It turns out the shifter had 'slipped'. I removed the shifter, and my mechanic was able to line the transmission up with a big screwdriver. I think the shifter has 2 fork tongs that go into the tranny. One had slipped out of position. Maybe Bill can post a link that explains it better. |

Come at it from the inside, top down. I think the gear shifter is just
loose at the top cover. Mike 86/00 CJ7 Laredo, 33x9.5 BFG Muds, 'glass nose to tail in '00 88 Cherokee 235 BFG AT's Canadian Off Road Trips Photos: Non members can still view!
