YJ Front speaker replacement
We've got a 1990 YJ and the front speakers are shot. Replacing the one
on the right does not look too bad since glove box can be removed for
access. Driver side speaker looks like a bear, though...looks like
dash has to be removed, which is a very involved procedure according
to my factory manual. Is there any simple way to get to that driver
side dash speaker?
Thanks, Rick

Yes, it involves borrowing a small person with really flexible and
talented hands. :)

I just replaced my speakers and head unit, and it was really not hard to
pop the dash off using the directions on that site. I was able to do
both sides in between deluges in about an hour, from when the windshield
went down to when it went back up again, including the time it took to
scrounge some nuts to secure the new speakers (7 of the original 8 nuts
were MIA).
My speakers looked something like the old ones in the last picture, so
it was about time. :)
