Just because I say it is white, you don't have to say it is black and in
this case you are dead freaking wrong!
Or better I say your clients are potentially dead if you assemble brakes
that way or with limited knowledge like you seem to posses.
Giving folks potentially 'deadly' advise is not a nice thing to do there

Take a 'close' look at that photo eh.
The cable is on the right side and pulls 'up' to the right cocking the
adjuster arm when the brakes are hit in reverse.
The spring goes to the left side and pulls the lever back down to the
left once the cable pressure has released turning the star wheel.
A cable type 'push' adjuster, give us a ------- break will ya.
