Re: XJ Door Hinge - I'm in trouble!

There should be 2 locations in London. One is at 500 Clarke Road and
the other is at 105 Midpark Rd. Hope this helps. I can get you a price
of what you should be paying on Monday. I know some stores hike prices
for walk-ins but if you ask for a certain price they will usually give
it to you.

Why would I do that?
If I was faced with this task again, I would do it the same way. The pin and
bushing cost $17. A new hinge kit with pin is over $100 from the dealer. The
only thing I would do different is not wasting my time trying to get the pin
out without torches.

The only benefit is that when you install something you don't have to
re-torque a week later, it's already rusted in place. I can't wait until I
do the lift kit (it's in the garage waiting for me now)... I suspect I will
be exercising the lifetime warranty on my Torx sockets.

Re: XJ Door Hinge - I'm in trouble!

Mort,
Thanks for pointing out the Midpark address... it's only about two miles
from me. Is that a new location? It's about the same distance as Brafasco
and closer than Facca for me. I'll wait for your price quote and head
over... the price comparison may give me an indication of the pricing
tendency. I found the Clark Rd. store to be roughly 10% higher across the
board than Brafasco.
