I did the Black Bear Pass in 1989, 1990 and 1994 in a FULL Size GMC 4x4 pu.
Now with 5 times in a Jeep I can't BELIEVE I did that trail in a full size.
NEVER in a full size or even a Jeep without automatic agin!

That's because the old stock classes had classes for stick and
auto. And just like nowadays the manufacturers give more horsepower to
the automatics because they don't have to worry about the owners
stalling them out and burning the valves. But the Pro Stocks are all
Manually shifted Lenco or Liberty four-speeds, that use the clutch only
for launching. Just like we power shifted the Borg Warner T-10, or
Muncie M-22s in the sixties. Listen to Greg Anderson:
