I looked at the first Unlimited to hit my local dealer lot this weekend. Did
not have a chance to drive it as the dealership had just closed. It was
fairly well equipped with some some chrome roll bumpers front and rear.
Sticker was $25, 025. I saw a hard top on the web site, wonder how much that
will add. It doesn't look bad, different for sure, but not bad. I already
started picturing the upgrades...3-4 inch lift...32" tires...(I dont get too
aggressive off road)...a nice roof rack ...room for the family to go
camping. Yep, I may be looking to trade sooner than I planned.

Re: Wrangler Unlimited
I think the key issue is how much you intend to off road, and weighing that
against your desire for a "family" vehicle. If you're not planning on doing
a lot of off road driving, go for the unlimited.
I think a great compromise is to find a low mileage 99 or 00 XJ (Cherokee).
It has a very good off road capabilities, availible aftermarket mods, and I
think the key thing is, 4 doors. I would guarantee that flipping seats
forward 3 or 4 times a day trying to pull out a child seat will soon become
a PITA. I have seen many of my friends and family struggle with a 2 door
vehicle and child seats. If my wife didn't have a WJ, I would consider
trading in my 02 TJ Sport in for an XJ.

If my wife didn't have a WJ, I would consider
trading in my 02 TJ Sport in for an XJ.
just my $0.02
