Re: Winter Wiper Blades
Your local dealers, or the distributors they buy from, probably buy all
their wiper blades in a batch, so as to save money. They get a limited
number of short blades each time, because they are less popular. Running
out of Jeep Wrangler blades isn't as big a deal as running out of a size
that lots and lots of people use. Another explanation for the apparent
shortage of Jeep wiper blades in stores near you, is that all those Jeeps
you see driving around, have new blades. ;o)

Re: Winter Wiper Blades
I would be interested in that also. I really hate when the wipers get
loaded with snow and ice but haven't known anyone who used the winter wipers
to ask and too cheap to buy them for the experiment.... <sigh>.

Re: Winter Wiper Blades
I'm not sure how effective they will be on the flat wrangler
windshield, but they are reasonably good on the curved windshield of
the XJ/MJ. Nothing is going to help much when 3 inches of wet slush
form, but they kept the blades from freezing into a straight stick and
seemed to clear themselves a good bit better than the open blades. I
consider them worth the effort. You still get the pile building up
under the blade causing the whole thing to lose contact with the
glass, but it isn't as frequent or noticable as with the regular
blades. I've used them for about 5 years now and get them at Sam's
for about the same price as a new Trico blade at the local parts
stores.
Now, if someone would just make it so that the rubber cover could be
inflated to flex off the buildup - similar to the deicing boots on
a/c, that would be a real step forward.
