Winch question
I bought a TJ that came with a Champion 8000lb winch with remote. I've heard
that most Jeepers don't get anything less than 12000lb for a winch for safety reasons. Should I just sell this winch or is 8000lb a safe rating for getting myself unstuck? I don't want that cable snapping when I'm nearby. |

An 8000 pound winch is the minimum. You want a winch capacity that is at
least double the weight of your Jeep, rounded up to the next available size. Most TJs use a 9000 pound winch, but 8000 is okay.
