A winch or a plow has a lot of weight. It will push the front of the
vehicle down on the suspension and make it ride lower. This is bad for
handling, wear on components, and suspension geometry. To compensate, you
need to install some kind of suspension upgrade that will at least restore
the stock height and suspension travel. (If you try to overcompensate by
lifting above the stock height, you may experience other problems.)
