whats good oil pressure wrangler 4lt
Wahts a good oil pressure for a 4lt wrangler............ mine sites at 3 ....driving just a bit above but sometimes when idle drops below 3 ....2ish is this normal as i dont remember it doing this before |
Re: whats good oil pressure wrangler 4lt
Oil pressure will always vary up and down directly in step with the
engine rpms. The faster the engine is turning, the higher the oil pressure and visa-versa. "2ish" is actually around 20 psi and is fine at lower rpms. I use the 10 psi for every 1K of engine rpms as a rough guideline as what is normal. Re: whats good oil pressure wrangler 4lt
Hi Mick,
You could probably drive another hundred thousand miles, but it's tired. Idling it's designed to maintain forty pounds, as that is the bypass pressure assured at the pump: http://www.bit.spt.fi/antti-ville.na...p_assembly.jpg I believe the gauges from any new car manufacturer to be inaccurate, but they're going to be in the ball park, satisfying most of us. If you value your machine like most Hot Rodders, than supplement them with Real gauges from http://www.stewartwarner.com/ or http://www.autometer.com/ God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ Mick Miller wrote: > > Wahts a good oil pressure for a 4lt wrangler............ > > mine sites at 3 ....driving just a bit above > > but sometimes when idle drops below 3 ....2ish > > is this normal as i dont remember it doing this before |
