and it plays just fine with Real Player 10 (the free one)

Do a Google search for "QuickTime Alternative 1.68" It lets you view .qt
and .mov files without all that iPod crap. Or you can download QuickTime
7.0 and then uninstall the iPod section with Windows "Add/Remove Programs".
