Re: transmission cover bezel ?
Yes,
those are the ones. I do have the metal cover.
I was just wondering if there was a bezel that clamps the rubber boot
between the metal tranny cover and "that" bezel.

Both my `79 CJ-5 and the `78 donor hulk had steel trim rings for each
set of shifter boots. The rings are about 2/4" wide (without looking)
and hold the edge of the boot fairly tightly against the transmission
cover plate. The hold-down screws pass through the rings. The rings
also eventually crack through the screw holes. Perhaps yours were
tossed out.
Flipping through a few catalogues it seems that no one makes them. Odd,
I'd think that they'd be offered in stainless along with billet light *****.
