Re: Tranny Leak!!
That stuff is a last gasp effort to stop oil leaks. It swells seals up
and does stop the leak... for a while...
Then it is time for new seals, even the ones that weren't leaking....

Re: Tranny Leak!!
My leak was indeed the area where the shifter enters the transmission. If
you have the ax5 transmission, and both sides of the transmission is wet
from fluid, check the bolts in the plate where the shifter enters the trans.
I could remove all four of them with my fingers. I guess we were lucky to
have such a simple fix. Thanks for everyone's responses.

Sure it has and the crap works..... for a while....
It swells up seals and stops the leak. Then the soft seals wear out, so
now instead of only having to replace one leaky seal, you have to
rebuild the whole thing because the rest of the seals went jelly and
wore out.

Re: Tranny Leak!!
So have plenty of radiator additives which stop the leak and clog your
radiator soon after. This stuff is pitched at the the "I can't be bothered
to fix it properly" guy.

Re: Tranny Leak!!
You'd be surprised at how bad the stop leak stuff really is. My friend has a
radiator AC shop and well over half of the people that complain about poor
heat in their vehicles have plugged heater cores from, guess what, stop
leak. The stuff is OK in an emergency, but for long term, its a "you can pay
me now, or pay me later" thing.
