Track bar and grade bolt?
I have an RE adjustable trackbar and am going to replace the bolt at the
frame end (not axle end). It is a gold grade 8 bolt, I believe. Now, I understand that grade 5 has a better shear strength than 8, and since the job of a trackbar is lateral which puts lateral stress on this bolt, would I be better off with a grade 5 bolt? -- __________________________________________________ _________ tw 03 TJ Rubicon 01 XJ Sport There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." -- Dave Barry Pronunciation: 'jEp Function: noun Date: 1940 Etymology: probably from g. p. A Grade 8's shear strength is still higher than a Grade 5. :)

Re: Track bar and grade bolt?
What part of it causes the grade 8's to snap so easy? Too brittle?
