Towing a 10' Popup

Just bought a used popup camper. The tow vehicle is a '93 XJ with
4.0L and automatic transmission.

Should I be towing in "D" or in "1-3"?

Thanks,

Mark

My owners manual for my 88 XJ says to avoid OD.

I would used regular drive.

Same with our '93 ZJ. Don't tow in overdrive.

Re: Towing a 10' Popup

Main reason to not tow in OD is that the tranny tends to 'hunt' (shifts
in and out of OD) If the trailer is light enough it works fine in OD and
you get better gas mileage.
