What is the recommended top tranny (auto) gear to crawl continuously,
while in 4low in a 4:1 transfercase? I'm assuming being in OD for a
length of time is not a good idea?

I don't think it matters what gear you are in. The obvious limitation of
speed is going to keep you from doing anything bad. You can't go very fast
in LO, and therefore you tend to shift alot because the terrain demands it.
If you can go for any extended period in any particular gear, then you
probably don't need to be in LO in the first place.

I tend to run in 2nd and 3rd on trails. 1st over rocks. Listen to the engine
and gears, they'll tell you where they want to be.
