In my case the steering column shaft was never disconnected, so that's moot.
Return spring? There is no return spring in a TJ steering gear, steering
wheel return force is provided by the caster of the front axle. Put your
front axle on jackstands, steer the front wheels and see if they return on
their own.
As several others have pointed out, the column shafts fit one way only, so
assuming the reman'd box is in spec, a draglink adjustment is appropriate.

hell i would have done it for 50 and u would have a centered wheel
