Tires, again
I have one more question about tires and then I will shut up. I went from
225/70-15 to 235/75-15, and I want to know what did this do to my speedometer? Thanks. -- CDG 2002 TJ olllllllo |
Re: Tires, again
The sidewall got taller, so the speedometer slowed down. when the speedo
indicated 60 in the past, you were probably doing very close to 60, probably something like 58.5. Now, 60 means something like 65 or 67. The factory error in a speedo shoujld be such that the indicated speed is always a little faster than reality. This will give you a slight hedge against the speed laws. With the change you have done, gotten taller tires, the speedo will not read slower than reality, perhaps enough slower to put you at risk of overly aggressive traffic cops. Re: Tires, again
You're off by five percent, when your speedometer reads 57 you're
going 60 MPH: http://www.----------.com/60reads57MPH.jpg God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- Casey wrote: > > I have one more question about tires and then I will shut up.
