I've got one in my Scrambler. I replaced both the center console and the
glove box. Very solid. For the center console, I'd advise buying seat
belt extenders, especially if you go with the wider of the two consoles in
a CJ (you didn't mention your Jeep model).
A lot more secure that just locking the doors with the full top on.
Definitely recommended.

However, all of the replies so far have been about Tuffy center consoles
(the whole things) and the subject line (and coincidentally my interest) are
with the console *inserts*. These are the steel box liner that goes inside
the factory console (on TJ's only, I think) and provides a secure box with a
stock external look.
Anyone have any experience with those?

Um, are you talking about the full replacement console, or just the
insert. It sounds like the full console, to me. I don't see how the
insert, which simply goes inside your existing plastic center console,
could make any difference with clearance to your back seats or
seatbelts...am I missing something here?
