Yes, you can still put the white side in on directional tires, they just
go on the other side.

Kind of like the more expensive tires used to come only in white
side walls, which the Hot Rodder reversed on their chrome rims. But on
off road use will soon peel the black off the white rubber underneath
making it look like heck, to those that look under the car.
