Re: Stuck in 4L??
I would be having a close inspection and clean the linkage up.
It still sounds like one of the shift rods isn't tracking right with the
shifter. Could just be a bent pin or something silly.

Yeah, I think it's pretty minor. I just wish I had the time to work on it.
The wife just went out for the day and left me with the 11 month old.

Joe, you must have had a blond moment yesterday, because there's no way
you could shift that mechanical linkage out of low range and it still be
in gear, not without the inter locking pin missing or the bolt loose on
the shift fork. Or the lever broken from the shift rods, in any case
once that happen it wouldn't readjust itself and begin to work again.

If yours is like most that I have seen, take it to the self
service car wash and hit the underside with the high pressure
soap. At least you will be able to see what is under there!
