It's not hard to put a kit in them.
You can buy just the top bearing and seal or the whole thing.
I helped Steve put on in his YJ, we did the top end on the vehicle, we
just dropped the pump down and left the pitman hooked up so we didn't
damage the bottom seal or tie rod end on the drag link.

The dealer wasn't interested in repairing the unit (new seals) so I
wasn't confident he had anybody with the experience to repair it.
With 86,000 miles on it, I didn't know what would be found inside the
unit. I have no tools because I have no place work (I rent downtown)
or store solvents, and other good stuff.
I was surprised at the $480.00 labor. In the service manual it looks
like a couple of hoses, 3 bolts and the pitman arm.
