amc designed the hinges for the xj with oil holes (and plugs) to minimize
hinge wear. klrysler dummies eliminated these to save a couple of
nickles,and also eliminated grease fittings for u-joints. them damned
dummies are ignurt. Ignurt!!

Yes I did it with out removing the door. It took all of maybe 5 minutes.
That's after I thought about turning down the end of a 1/4" rod to guide the
rod over the pin.
