i have a set of brake lines (2 front, 1 rear) from them sitting in a box. i haven't installed them yet so i can't really comment on the quality once installed. the lines look really well made though, nice finish and material. too bad you're down south-sounds like you're doing a lot of the same stuff i am or have done... Hey Serg,
Did you install your MPI kit yet? I just had the 4.0L head reworked and inspected. The machine shop did a 3 angle valve job and surfaced the head. This was the second shop I took this head to. The first shop was a parts store who sent it out of town to have it "looked at" when I first brought it in. The told me the place would inspect it and let me know what it needed. Later they called me and told me it needed a valve job, the head surfaced, and work on the valve guides. The wanted to Knurl the guides and the guy at the parts store was telling me that knurling makes the guides even better because it allows oil down into the guide for more lubrication. I later find out what a load-o-crap that line was. Anyway, I told them hold off for now and I'll bring it back when I have more cash (the estimate they gave me was more than I expected). Turns out when I went to the shop to pick it up there was a 45.00 inspection fee that the parts shop didn't tell me about that would be applied to the head work should I have it done. This kinda pissed me off because they should have told me about this charge up front in my opinion. Then they told me I had to buy the head gasket kit from them at 80.00 or they couldn't complete the job. It was getting too sticky, too bad a feeling, so I took the head home and just recently found another shop locally I could deal with. This shop told me the guides were in great shape and didn't need to be redone at all so he did the valve job and surfaced the head and the work looks great. I ate the 45.00 on the previous shop but they have lost my business. I had an similar experience with Four Wheel Parts locally (Irvine). I had ordered some valve cover gaskets, the thicker cork ones for my aluminum valve cover. The guy quoted me 8.00 each for the gaskets. I say, OK as that was a good price. Ok, I just found the documentation on the 4.0L head. The shop gave me a
price of 245.00 to surface the head, valve job, and narrow the guides (Knurling). In addition, the head gasket kit was 85.00 for a grand price of 330.00 plus tax @ 7.75% = ~355.00. The second shop I took it to charged me 140.00, tax included.
