Cell phone? I've never been able get a signal off road, you've got
to be within five miles of a repeater.
Flare gun? Might have work for a guy here in Southern California,
any ways they're guessing he started a signal fire.

P.S. In the areas I wheel in, a cellphone is useless, a flare won't be seen
by the people that aren't there, and a CB is hit or miss at best. CBs are
usually only good for a few miles anyway. And if I'm laying in a ditch
busted up and by myself, I will just consider myself history. Anyone who
trusts a cellphone to save their *** when offroading somewhere besides the
mall is terribly naive.

That depends on the rig and the location. I can chain my Jeepster to a tree
and winch a much heavier load than the weight of my rig.
