Right turn, clyde...
Hey all,
I have a '98 TJ Sport. In the last two days I've noticed whenever I turn
right, and I'm driving on more bumpy road, I hear a little "bump", like the
sound of a rod hitting another or something. It's coming from the
right/front wheel area. From what I've heard so far, it's happens when
there is vertical motion, not horizontal. Turning the wheel doesn't cause
it. I can really only hear it when I'm moving slow, like driving through
the parking lot.
Now, I know there are a whole slew of things that could be causing a bumping
sound and I can't see anything visibly wrong under there. Just wondering if
there's a _common_ problem with TJ's, and where/how to start finding the
problem.

Hi Tim,
Sounds like one of the grommets that hold the sway bar going across
the front end needs replacement. In the picture you may see the their
links that may also need replacement:

Look at the sway bar mounts.
