Re: Remote starters
I guess I have to agree
I installed a remote starter in my 01TJ when I first bought
it new. Yes I love it, but it does hack into the harness.
Just yesterday the fricken thing quit working properly
I went back to the installer and was lucky because
the warrenty was run out but they fixed/replaced it anyway.
The "brain" as they call it failed.
So I'm guesing these units are NOT robust enough
to withstand the harsh automotive enviroment
therefore I predict this second unit will eventually fail
again. And I do not intent to spend more money
if the warrenty won't take care of it.
BUT when it does work, They're great.

Re: Remote starters
When I was 16 and living in Alaska, I had a '74 VW bug. I developed a
system that worked great using a portable heater and a plant timer. I
had an extension cord out to my bug running the heater. I set the
timer to go off an hour before I needed to get in the car. It was nice
and toasty when I got in and the snow was completely melted off all
the windows.

Re: Remote starters
Go to bulldogsecurity.com. The sell remote starters, along with
T-harnesses (no splicing) for almost every application imaginable.
I've installed 2 of their systems, with no complaints. Call their tech
guys to make sure you don't need the security bypass module.

Re: Remote starters
Go to bulldogsecurity.com. The sell remote starters, along with
T-harnesses (no splicing) for almost every application imaginable.
I've installed 2 of their systems, with no complaints. Call their tech
guys to make sure you don't need the security bypass module.

Re: Remote starters
Bummer. I hope it wasn't my local manufacturer:
